Just found a program that adds a new method of entering text on a pocket pc called Tengo. Its in version 2 now, but is not a free program. The old version 1, however, is free now. Get Tengo 1.0 here. easy to install. Very easy to use if you’ve used the T9 method of entering text before. I’m using it now and loving it so far.

Got my free Wifi AP the other day. Ordered it during some sort of promotion, and got it a bit more than a week later.

Includes everything you need to get it started.

This neat little box creates two separate wireless networks, one public and one private. You can only make changes to the configuration from the page at fon.com that your AP gets its information from.

It comes in handy and if it ever becomes truly hackable should be even more fun to have around. So far though, it doesn’t seem to play nice with hacks.

Google Maps for Window Mobile

Google Maps for Windows mobile looks really on good on my iPaq.
Right now the biggest thing I think its missing is a good favorites menu. Right now I think the only way is the dropdown list in the Locations menu that saves your most recent location searches. A more permanent place for my favorite places would be nice, especially since not every place I look up on the map has an address that comes up in searches.
One of my favorites things about the app is the integrated traffic data that is available when viewing the main roads.
Its wasy to use and does what it should.
Overall, I think its fantastic.

Custom USB drive

A bit ago one of my flash drives was starting to break apart, so I had to do something to keep things together. After seeing another flash drive under the same conditions put inside a Matchbox car, I knew I could do better. How do you one-up that? Add lights!
Using one of my own old toy cars of the “Sonic Flashers” brand, which was complete with lights and siren, I managed to create a sweet new set of wheels for my flash drive. But the best part of all is that the lights really work, they
even flash along with the data transfer. The hardest part was that I didn’t have the right size solder handy and got some big, ugly globs on there.

But it works regardless and looks a lot sweeter than than those typical non-car flash drives.
